The Story of the Heavenly Snowflake
Professor Kenneth G. Libbrecht of Caltech has spent his life photographing snowflakes. It is a fact that no two snowflakes are alike. One snowflake formed an ice cross. A picture of the snowflake cross was sent to Christopher Radko, a well known designer of Christmas ornaments. He followed the etchings of the ice crystal to develop the Heavenly Snowflake ornament. All proceeds from the sale of this ornament will be used by Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida to benefit the needs of the vulnerable in our community.
We believe God sent this Heavenly Snowflake to earth as an inspiration to us to provide for the needs of the infirmed, the poor and the abandoned. this is not the first time that God has provided by sending a gift from heaven. He sent His people to eat in the desert. This snowflake fell, at this point in history, when the greatest number of people are suffering since the Great Depression. The story of the Heavenly Snowflake is a Christmas miracle.
